NOT recommended for non-majors. The lab is miserable too, but Marissa is a great TA.
I thought this class was very hard. the first part isn't bad but the Anovas are terrible. He won't give you a C or below unless you really screw up but getting an A requires a nerd
I found this course to be more work than 305, but actually not as difficult. This was probably due to the fact that Meg Scalia was a much better TA than whom I'd had for 305, and I was also more experienced with Professor Freeman from 305 and knew what to expect. Obviously you aren't taking this unless you have to, so there's not much else I can say except that you WILL get through it.
for the love of god, take this class with schmidt if it is offered, even if it as 9am. Freeman does not seem to understand that some people do not have a basic knowledge of statistics and it is reflected in his teaching. Although he is always available and friendly, going to him individually for help is useless since he can't seem to simplify his answers. If you like statistics or already know a good deal about it then you may not have any issues, but if you are unsure about your abilities DO NOT TAKE HIM, you are only making it harder on yourself.
One of my least favorite classes in college.
Dave is an awesome TA
Just go to class and study class notes. Book is useless.
Freeman makes it simple if you just learn the stuff. Do practice problems from past exams.
Professor Freeman is really nice and this class isn't as bad as most people say it is. If you want an A you have to go to class, don't bother buying the book, and write as much as possible on your formula sheet (Freeman lets you write as much as you want) and you will be good for an A.
