Kevin Duong is Ah-maz-ing! His teaching style is so engaging. Rather than talking at you, he asks the class meaningful questions, genuinely interested in our considerations. He's super knowledgeable, super nice, and super excited for every class. Professor Duong is the quintessential professor, in my opinion. The class itself is interesting and a great learning experience. The readings are manageable, not too long, not super short either. I found "What is Democracy" to be one of my favorite classes at UVA. The class is coherently organized. The class had 2 papers and one final, along with pre-class little Collab posts (15 minutes max). I would highly recommend taking any classes by Professor Duong in the future. He will soon be a staple at UVA, no doubt.

overall, really great professor and a super enjoyable class. There was never a dull moment in class. As long as you do the readings and participate, you’ll do fine in the class.
