Professor Paschke is a really nice guy, but this class was terrible. He tends to teach directly from the book (Griffiths Intro to Quantum) and in exactly the same way, so if you don't understand the reading, you won't understand the lecture. Problem sets often include difficult proofs that do not contribute to the learning of the material. There are quizzes biweekly that are normally fair. The midterm and final were difficult, but approximately on the level the class was taught. He passes out packets of lecture notes that cover the day's material, which can occasionally make it difficult to pay attention. Professor Paschke is helpful in office hours though. This class is required for physics majors, so be prepared for a long hard slog.
