I had Zac for Consciousness, and he is a very ncie guy, but please don't take if you have no prior experience! I was confused for the majority of this course, which wasn't really Zac's fault - I just have 0 previous knowledge which was quite detrimental. It seemed that all of the PHIL majors really enjoyed this class though, so if you are majoring in philosophy, I would recommend. However, if you are a random psych major, I wouldn't suggest this as a class. The grade breakdown was all essays and the final plus participation. Essay 1 (1000-1500 words) was 25%, essay 2 (2000-2500) was 30%, participation was 15%, and the final was 30%. The final was all short answer questions, with 18 questions in total and you pick 15 of them to answer. TL;DR Take if you have previous philosophy experience, don't if you have zero experience! Zac is a great prof., but it just couln't make this course salvagable for me.

I took this seminar on the Philosophy of Memory and it is an absolutely fantastic class. Zac is super clear and fun and well-organized. I love memory stuff. I enjoy the part related to personal identity and narrative more than the part about testimony and preservationism. But in general, this class is great, and very traditionally analytic philosophical. Zac is a nice and approachable person. Take this if you are interested in philosophy and memory.
