THIS IS FOR CAMERON NOT CARGILE. I ACCIDENTLY PUT THE WRONG NAME! take this class! I came into the class knowing nothing about logic, and came out super passionate for it. Cargile has a scottish accent which makes lectures super enjoyable as well. There are weekly problem sets as well as a midterm and final. I ended up with an A+ in the class and I'm pretty sure I got an 80 on the final.

best class ever. material makes a lot of sense and cargile is a great lecturer. dont bother actually studying because the material is intuitive and the tests are takehome and brute forceable
If you're a math student you're going to want to take this with Cargile, he stresses a bunch of the math related stuff. That being said he's not always the easiest to listen to but makes up for it with a witty sense of humor. Overall I'd recommend it.
Tough class. Professor Cargile is really sweet, well-intentioned and honestly tries his best to meet all needs of his students. He is very approachable and accesible. However his lectures can be confusing. The text, Mates, was dense, you would definitely have to spend time wading through the material to understand the concepts. Tests are take-home but still difficult. Discussion sections were very helpful. Overall I'd say a well-intentioned but hard class.
Material is interesting but very abstract. The fact that Cargile was as lost as his students during his lectures didn't really help. You only learn by doing problems in the book. Like 30% of the class dropped out right before the withdraw deadline.
