Professor Dowling is a wonderful professor and person. She is more than willing to help outside of class if you seek her out, but in class is a nightmare. Her slides are horribly riddled with vague details, so skimming the textbook is a must for the exam. Use the powerpoints as a backbone and the book to fill in the blanks. Dowling can also have a terrible attitude in class which is not conducive to learning in the slightest. Lab instructors are usually amazing at demonstrating the techniques and are always willing to show you demonstrations as much as needed. However, because lab on only every other week, there is not really sufficient time for practice. Not a great class, but it's survivable.

Dowling is a great professor but the class was not a breeze. The textbook was more helpful than the powerpoints when studying for the exams. The labs are every other week and I felt that we did not have time to practice the skill sets.
