I came out of this course with a higher understanding of and greater appreciation for music theory. The class isn't hard, and it's very easy to get an A (there are homework redos that will give you an A- for any assignment). There are 4 cumulative exams but Deveaux is a fair grader and if you pay attention and do your work carefully they aren't too hard. Scott Deveaux is very passionate and intelligent and overall a good professor. He can be a little hard to follow and he goes off on random tangents, so it takes a little while to get used to, but once you do he's not hard. I would recommend this class, but maybe take from a different professor.
