Because of the professor's preferences, there was a large focus on the development of the romantic opera. Readings are incredibly short; the longest homework assignments consist of watching or listening to performances that usually do not exceed twenty minutes per class period. It's a fairly easy class for those who are interested in the material, but others seem to struggle with some concepts (but not too much).
