Labs are pretty cool, but grading is a bit subjective. All depends on your TA. Lectures are horrible. I knew this wouldn't be a very interesting class after the 1st lecture. Peter is just not an engaging lecturer. That being said, it's not too difficult to get an A (if you go to lecture and pay attention). I don't know if I'd consider this an easy A... personally, I find blindly memorizing artists, dates, and songs very difficult. I spent about 12 hours memorizing all the terms for the midterm and did well; however, I failed the final since I didn't have the time to study for it. If you're okay with memorizing stuff for exams, then I'd recommend this class since you learn some cool stuff during lab and it's pretty much an easy A from there; however, if you struggle memorizing slides, you've been warned.

Much needed A class. I really enjoyed the lectures and learned a lot. You really have to try to mess up to not do well. Two exams, four projects, one paper. Very fun class, and I’m glad that the stress of doing well was removed so I could actually absorb the material. Sad Bussigel is leaving next year though! :(
didn't really go to lecture, he posts the lecture slides online which is all you really need for the tests and lecture is rather irrelevant to the projects anyway. You learn how to do them in discussion. He does a review the class before the tests which you should attend. Overall a fun easy class worth taking. I thought it was a pretty easy A
GREAT class! One of my favorite teachers at UVA; excellent TAs. The class material is extremely interesting. I did not take this as an easy A, rather I wanted to fulfill a CS requirement. Would recommend attending all lectures, as the exams are only doable if you took notes in class.
