Professor Lobley is nice and genuinely cares about the subject material. However, if you're not very interested in sound, this is probably going to be a very boring class for you. Much of class was spent recording random sounds and talking about them, and grading was very unclear and felt arbitrary. Also some of the assignments felt very random / put together last minute. Sometimes you're required to go to exhibits / shows over the weekend, which can also be very time consuming. Originally we were also told our final exam time would not be used, but then at the last minute the professors tried to get us all together for one last listening session when most of us had already booked travel, etc. Overall, not a hard class but not very clear what the point was. Didn't feel like I took anything away from the class.
