Karen Parshall sets unrealistic expectations of remembering minute details for her midterm and final. Plan to study extensively for both of these examinations. There is also a 17-20 page paper near the end of the course that she grades harshly. The class is somewhat interesting but not at all easy.

It is a writing intensive course. It's unfortunate for those of us who just want to learn the material, but Parshall is very critical on writing.
