Dr Rapinchuk is passionate about the course and material, and teaches it ably. He incorporates examples with each new concept, and really fills up the 75-minute class periods. There are weekly quizzes and homeworks due Mondays and Fridays respectively, each taking significant time, so be available. Tests are also take-home and you're given around four days to complete each. Make what you will of the all-take-home policy. Office hours are after class Thursdays so that's fairly accessible, and Rapinchuk checks email frequently. He's gruff at first but cares about student comprehension (if not necessarily grades). Take this class is you have a deep interest in linear algebra or advanced mathematical theory. It will be largely fourth-year grad student hopefuls.
