Great instructor and a relatively straightforward class. The expectations are made clear early on, with a quiz and homework assignment due every week, and the CSWA SolidWorks certification exam acting as the final. The lectures aren't mandatory, making it essentially asynchronous, and overall, the class gives you a great introduction to SolidWorks.

This class was a basic introduction to CAD. There were weekly quizzes and CADing assignments. Although this class was meant to be asynchronous the professor offered different time slots on Fridays where he would go over how to do the assignments and everyone who attended would be fully capable of having the assignment completed by the end of the sessions. Although those were optional I found the very instructive and faster than trying to figure out the assignments myself. Although I never needed help there were numerous TAs that were often advertising their office hours in the class chat. The quizzes and assignments are 2000 points of the final grade with the CSWA being an additional 240 points. With this in mind make sure you do well throughout the semester because that is most of the grade. The CSWA I got stuck on an early problem for 50% of the time and had to rush through the final ones. With this in mind I recommend skipping problems you get stuck on because it is likely you can get it wrong and still pass if you get the rest of them. Overall this class is about the right amount of effort for a 1 credit class. #tCFS24
