This class had the potential to be very interesting. As someone who was originally interested in becoming an EMT, this class made me less enthusiastic. Students are responsible for memorizing lecture and supplemental slides. If you don’t write down exactly what was on the slide for an exam you will get points off. It didn’t seem like the exams demonstrated understanding, but rather memorizing the exact wording of the slides. The exams also make up pretty much the entirety of your grade, so there is little room for error even if you do well on the weekly quizzes. The professor could be rude and would sometimes be late which was inconvenient and made the class even more unenjoyable.

This class could be really cool and great for pre-meds/healthcare. But she made it complicated and she is a bit of a chaotic professor and lowkey rude. As I am an EMT, she did not teach the content very well and the lab was very chaotic and a bit of a mess. I heard this class was super easy in the past, but if I wasn't already an EMT this class would be pretty hard. You'd need to study a lot before exams if you've never done healthcare work before. I took it in the fall of 2024.
