I would recommend this class! It was super interesting and went way deeper into the topics than high school classes ever did. Professor Dierksheide is also really good, she does a great job of emphasizing the important points and really drills them into you (in a good way). There isn't much work required outside of class on a weekly basis, although there are 2 papers, a midterm, and a final (the midterm and final are both short essay) but for the papers you definitely have enough time to do them if you manage your time well since my TA usually gave us the prompts 2 or 3 weeks in advance. Overall I really felt like I learned a lot more about early American history than in previous classes, especially with this professor.
