Honestly this class isn't difficult but it is SO BORING. I would not recommend this class to anyone. Zunz basically spends an hour talking about himself and how he wrote the book and then forcing people to come up with questions for the group. The reading is extremely dry and mostly about random people. The essays have no guidance, yet he's extremely picky when it comes to the topics you end up writing about. This class is AWFUL, it's an easy B+ or A-, but don't take it.

Professor Zunz is a FANTASTIC teacher and this class shows you a really interesting perspective of American History (Philanthropy). The class only meets once a week, and the grading is 20% for 3 essays and 40% participation, which is really nice. There's a good amount of reading each week, but all in all I would 100% recommend this class!
