This class is great for anyone eager to learn more about Central America. It focuses more on contemporary political issues surrounding Central America than historical facts. Assignments for the class consist of 5 reading responses (~1-2 pages), 2 Event Reports, 2 Worksheets, and 2 papers (~5-7 pages). The workload is not too difficult and it should be an easy A for history students. Sweeney is great.

Great professor and probably my favorite class this semester. There's a fair amount of work and the requires a significant amount of weekly COLLAB posts, etc. but it holds you accountable for actually doing the readings. Two papers, one is a research paper. Interesting material if you are interested in history or Latin America, and she makes a point to actually include diverse perspectives like Indigenous, Afro-Latino, LGBTQ+ etc. Recommend both the professor and the class!
