Professor Fountain is amazing. He really cares about the material and always finds ways to include the class. He has a very calming presence and is very enjoyable to be around / learn from. Lecture can get a bit dry at times, but for the most part the content of the class is very interesting and will teach you valuable life skills. As long as you do the readings (and summarize them in your reading journal) you will be fine. He is a fair grader considering the subjectivity of papers.

Such a cool class - definitely a must take! Professor Fountain is awesome (and a very generous grader). Readings were due every class but were very manageable. There is one paper, one final (2 short paragraphs), and a final group research paper. Participation is also graded so it is important to pay attention and participate during lecture, but this is easy to do because the course material is so interesting. Professor Fountain is also such a nice guy and a great person to get to know, and he truly cares about his students and makes an effort to learn everyones name quickly which I appreciate. Take this class if given the opportunity for sure.
