BEST teacher I have had thus far at UVA. His comments on the papers are extremely thorough and helpful. It is clear he puts a lot of thought into his feedback. He structures the class very well and does not make you come to class on some fridays when he feels there is no need. He is not about assigning any kind of busy work inside or outside of the classroom. His essay writing process is manageable and improved my writing. Before each paper is due, there is a first draft due that he will comment on and then give you time to rework and fix according to his comments before turning in the final copy to be graded. The whole year is a progressive, manageable learning process and you will not regret taking this class. Super helpful, approachable, knowledgable, engaging, organized, and flexible teacher.
