The subject, playing with genes, was very interesting. He really knows his stuff, concerning writing and public health. He is a very friendly, very approachable. He is willing to help at all times. He states exactly what he is looking for in each paper. There were four papers overall, three about three page paper and one longer one. There is also a lot of discussion in the class, and he keeps the discussion going with insightful questions that make people think. Overall, I really enjoyed this class.

Broom is a friendly guy and very easy-going. He is, by far, the most straightforward professor that I've ever had (I'm actually a second-year fulfilling the first-year writing requirement) with regards to expectations. If you do what he asks (incorporate certain writing elements in your paper, some participation, ect.), then you will do well in his class.
