ENGL 4540

This was one of my favorite ENGL seminars at UVA so far. The class is structured to have a pretty manageable workload, there are no quizzes or exams or essays, but there are weekly reading journals and readings to do for every class. We had a panel presentation on critical readings for our midterm grade, and a book review (you could also opt for a regular term paper) for our final. Participation really matters in this class, but Professor Schey makes it really easy to participate and get points. He makes sure everyone has gotten a chance to share their thoughts without being pushy or cold-calling on anyone. He is a really genuine and funny guy, and he clearly has a true passion for the Wordsworths and Coleridge. I looked forward to this class more than any of my other classes this semester just because he always made it fun and engaging, I definitely recommend taking this to any English majors looking for a fun seminar :)
