Easily one of my favorite classes and favorite professors. There were a couple papers, the occasional (very) easy pop quiz, and pretty casual reading responses. The class itself is structured around discussion. While participation is not absolutely required, I found the discussions very fun and engaging, and this is coming from someone who rarely speaks up in any other class. Prof Sullivan is great at making the class a very comfortable and encouraging environment. The coursework is not necessarily easy or light, but it was very enjoyable and honestly one of the classes I really feel like I was able to gain a lot from.

*Love* Professor Sullivan! Your grade is based on three papers (we turned the last one into a blog instead, liked that so much better), some pop quizzes (extremely easy if you do the readings on time, she drops the lowest and my lowest was a 90), reading responses, and a final. Sullivan is great (extremely funny imo), the biggest "issue" with the class is mainly reading. Towards the end of the semester we were reading 100+ pages per week, and I ended up having to read around 30 pages every day just to keep up. Your class discussions should help you with your papers, and she does give you a chance to revise one if you need to. I'd definitely recommend her as a prof, just keep in mind you'll only get an A if you do the work (and there's a lot of it!).
