Dr. E is awesome! She's got a contagious bubbly personality and is great at what she does. The class is really interesting and Dr. E teaches you so much about adolescence that you never knew. I wish I had a class on adolescence like this in high school. It would've made the teen years so much better. You get to learn about adolescence in a positive light and about positive youth development. Course Work: This applies to my class. I don't know what she will change in the future. -weekly readings from textbook and other sources (reading is a bit heavy but interesting) -weekly postings (2) of animating questions from the readings and Ted Talks -3 written (2-3) page reflections due throughout the semester -1 (2-3 page) research/Op-Ed paper on policies affecting adolescents -lots of group work and group/class discussion -Group-led class discussions on the readings -For our class, she lectured on Mondays and then Wednesdays were group work days. -1 midterm, 1 final (They're not tricky. She wants you to show her what you know and asks appropriate questions relevant to the material you've learned. If you pay attention in class, they re not hard) Put in the work. It's so interesting and the class is worth it.
