Have gone 4 years without writing a review but felt the need to emphasize staying away from taking this class!! By far the my least favorite economics course taken at UVA. The material and lectures were dry, the textbook is largely irrelevant for doing well in the course, and the exams are unnecessarily long and tricky. Did not come out of this class feeling much more knowledgable about macro, but did find myself earning a terrible grade! Considered whether Economics was the right major choice for a bit but do not be discouraged by this course, Econ is hype.

Honestly not much to like about this class. Professor is difficult to understand and the class' answers seem very ambiguous. TA's are barely any help at all. Unless you are an Economics major and you need to take this class I could not recommend it less. I took it for an elective and it was a real weight on my GPA

I'm changing my review to make it VERY CLEAR. This professor is AWFUL. They are completely incompetent at teaching, and tried to ruin my final grade after I pointed out a mistake in an exam. Absolutely the worst professor in the ECON department and a disgrace to UVA.

Graded on a curve, which was helpful. Be careful when choosing GAs for discussions as mine couldn't really speak English very well, which meant i suffered.

She is a really nice Professor. Compared to other ECON 3020 Professors, Professor Osotimehin is a great alternative. However, the grading is though. In my class there are only about 10% people who ended up with an A+ or A. Her models are clear, and the homework is really closely related to the book and the lecture. If you want to have a good Macroecon experience, take her class. If you just want to get an A in Econ 3020, take it with someone else.
