This class was very enjoyable and practical. I am not a materials or electrical engineer, so I do not have a solid background in thin film optoelectronics. However, Professor Lee made himself very approachable and encouraged questions so that I would understand. Everything he taught in the class was practical and cutting edge. Everything he taught about thin-film technologies was practical, and included such things as the history behind them as well as various manufacturing methods. He makes a point of teaching the economical implications behind new technologies as well, to show how important it is that a new technology is adaptable and able to be used within a realistic industry setting. The assignments were all based within industry and enforced important skills in being able to discuss and present new technologies. I feel that the assignments were of reasonable difficulty. I cannot recommend Professor Lee enough. If you have a chance to take him, jump on it.
