I'm not sure if this class will ever be offered again bc Prof. Brown is retiring, but hopefully someone will take it on! This class started off slow at first but then you get really invested in a bunch of different and super interesting case studies. The studies mostly focus on "social entrepreneurship" or how entrepreneurs start businesses to help (often poor) people and generate value, and most of them are sustainability-focussed. It was really cool to see how so many businesses operate in order to help people escape poverty and to make poor communities more sustainable. There were daily readings and short writings and a longer case-exam project and final paper. Professor Brown is very lovable and has a lot of experience actually working in and visiting some of the communities we read about.
