I took this course because I thought it would be fairly easy and little work. This turned out to be true, but the exams were much harder than I expected. Sandas is a poor teacher, tests hard and grades hard. Overall the class was very little work, but I got a lower grade than I expected (B).

I'm not particularly interested in trading, but I took the class to try out quantitative finance at a higher level than intermediate investments. You learn a lot through the simulations, but the later simulations can require a decent amount of work modeling and running tutorials before class begins. Your grade is based on your performance in simulations (including pre and post-quizzes), a midterm, a final, and a semester-long portfolio challenge.
