P. Wilkie was very energetic and talked about aspects outside of just the accounting book. The class is fairly difficult but Wilkie is pretty fair. The course is only demanding the week of the test- otherwise little to no homework.

This class is such a joke, all you have to do is do the recomended problems before the test and its an easy A. It's unbelievable how easy this was, by far one of my easier A's at UVa.

Even though I try to avoid accounting whenever possible, Wilkie makes this class fun for everyone. His enthusiasm for the material and witty sense of humor keep everyone interested. In terms of workload, he follows the book closely and most classes are spent doing practice problems that are very similar to test questions. Wilkie is constantly trying to improve the class and this semester he added case studies for the first time. Our first midterm was a take home analysis of a firm's financial situation. The second midterm and final were all multiple choice questions. Wilkie tries hard to grade the class fairly and curves so the average is a B/B+. Overall, a great experience for a required class. Even for someone like myself who doesn't enjoy accounting. Wilkie does a great job at relating the material to all different industries, especially those college students like.
