Wilkie isn't bad at teaching. But its really up to you to study on your own and use the book and online homework to learn it. The material wasn't as interesting for me as Comm 201, but it may be more common sensical and easier for some. Second test was difficult. Test questions are ones you've seen before. From book or online. Not tricky. He must have changed them from prior years. Pretty funny guy, not a tool like some thought below.

This class is a requirement for the Comm School, so I'm guessing you're probably going to have to take it - and you could do worse than taking it with Prof. Wilke. I didn't really like him (or the class) but I had to take it because I'm applying to the Comm School, although I will say that you should DO A LOT OF PRACTICE PROBLEMS. Seriously - you will fail the class unless you do a TON of practice problems from the book. Pay attention in class - and ignore the tons of sports metaphors that he throws in there, they get REALLY annoying after a while - and DO THE PROBLEMS. Please. Otherwise, you WILL fail. Good luck! :)
Wilkie is a pretty good teacher, but sometimes he flies through lectures. Make sure you really understand everything before tests, and talk to him if you don't understand something. Watch out for tricky wording on tests, and watch the clock. If you don't get the subject easily, this class can be frustrating, but it can be valuable for the real world and it's a pre-req for Comm school.
Wilkie is fun to listen to in lecture, but he doesn't always do a great job at covering material (i.e. he gets off on tangents easily). However, that being said, he is a great guy and very approachable. Watch out for the 2nd exam and the final. Make sure to do the practice problems and ask questions!
Horrible class and professor. Avoid this class, unless you're pre-comm. Pre-comm people: suck it up.
Wilkie was terrible. He is like an overly-arrogant, disorganized version of Mary Erickson. He spends 3/4 of his class each session trying to entertain you, but never actually explains anything. Tests are difficult, but he curves the class so I did very well. Only take this if you are pre-Comm and have no other choice.
When I took 202, Wilkie was trying a few new things in the course, which did not work very well. His tests were very difficult; look for tricks. He likes to try to make you think his way, not the traditional way. He had to end up curving the class a lot at the end.
It's a prereq for Comm School, so you must take it. It's not that terribly interesting, but there's little work.
Solid class.
not a great prof
