Wilkie does a mediocre job. He basically just does problems from the book to teach the material. Exams are not too bad if you follow the process of the problems.

Wilkie is an atrocious lecturer because he doesn't teach the material in class well. All he does is do practice problems from the textbook, and he writes up quick solutions on the board. Obviously I'm not gonna understand it unless he teaches it first and then does practice problems. I will say though that Wilkie is a very nice man if you go to his office hours, and he's willing to help you out.

i hated this class as well as the teacher. he expects answers before even teaching anything. the graduate students he assigns to help are no use at all! even they do not know the material!

The final exam was difficult but the overall experience was a good one. Professor Wilkie was helpful and funny at times.

Surprisingly interesting class, given what you'd expect the material to be. Wilkie does a good job but not a spectacular one. Most of the outside work will be test preparation.

I really believe that accounting is hit or miss for people. Some of us can look at a problem and get through most of it without reading the chapter, and others can put in hours and hours and still find things difficult. Fortunately accounting is something that clicks for me, and because of this I found class to be annoying sometimes, however Wilkie is a funny guy (especially to watch) and does his best to make accounting fun. I found it somewhat annoying because basically every class was putting book problems up and going through them; this is very helpful if you're having trouble, but just dull if you've had no trouble on the homework. Again accounting is hit or miss for people so it is hard for me to give a recommendation, but if you get through 201 fine, 202 should be no problem.

Wilkie does his best to make the class enjoyable. He's a nice guy and very approachable. Class wasn't too bad if you did the reading and did a lot of practice problems to make sure you understood everything. Necessary for Pre-Comm.
