Mr. Wellmon's COLA was titled: What is a University? It was the only class I signed up for during orientation that I actually ended up staying in. I felt, what better way to go into college than to take a class titled What is a university? It is all about the readings and discussions, and the readings in our case were pretty interesting. A lot of them had to do with issues about UVa. I felt it was a worthwhile COLA. Wellmon is also a cool guy. Your cola teacher will become your advisor if you are signed up for a cola, so for me it was less than ideal there because he is in the German dept. and I am a math and science guy, but don't let that stop you from taking a cola you want to take. Pretty cool 1 credit IMO
