Carta is a great professor and very knowledgeable in this area. He tends to assume that we know a bit more about biology concepts than the average chemical engineering student would, but it's manageable to learn what you need to know. Homeworks about every other week, two take home, open note tests and an open note final. Overall a very interesting and applicable topic if you are interested in the pharmaceutical/bioengineerng industries or just want a relatively easy A in a CHE elective

Carta is a beautiful individual. The lectures are dense and difficult to understand, but the homework is graded very lightly - so the material tends to only make sense once the homework solutions are released. This is fine, because the exams are open-note and take-home, so the solutions help a lot in understanding the material. A bit too smart to remember what it's like to be dumb, so he says 'obviously' constantly. But it's endearing.
