Other anthropology students suggest that you take this class with a TA because it will be easier, but I am glad I took this class with the Chair of the Anth Department, which is Prof. McKinnon. No doubt is she challenging and tough, but her teaching style is justified by her broad intellect and her expertise in the discipline. Her writing prompts are intimidating because she asks you to analyze and make an argument for one set of anthropologists' way of thought from an opposing or different set of anthropologists' view. Although the readings are difficult, Professor McKinnon is more than willing to help any student out.She makes herself available during her office hours, so definitely go to her office hours to get to know her. She also provides to be of immense help during office hours when you are stuck on your paper.
