Extremely boring. Way too much reading. Assignments were annoying. You can get a good grade if you put in the work, but this class is so unengaging that it'll be hard to motivate yourself to care. If you need this class for a requirement, then it's fine and you'll be okay, but don't take it if you don't need to.

The professor merely outlines the readings during lecture, however there are 'reading checks' so it is essential to show up. Her lectures are mind-numbing and the amount of reading per week is heinous considering it is only a 2000 level class. In one week's time span we were required to read an entire textbook. The final research paper is intense and requires an immense amount of fieldwork and careful research writing with an appendix, bibliography, etc. The TA is super nice, but the professor grades harshly. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
