Mentore is a great teacher. The classes he teaches are very interesting and usually do not make much sense at the beginning. As the class progresses, you begin to understand his arguments and his sense of humor. DISCLAIMER: Lots of reading and the lecture format it totally unformated. Mentore talks freely and any attempt to make logical, organized notes becomes very difficult.

2 1,000 word papers = 40% of grade discussion/inclass participation = 10%+extra final = 50% Worthwhile class. Focuses on social impact of religion over individual experience/salvation

You have to be ready to suspend your prior assumptions about the world when you enter Mentore's class for the first time. He has legitmate arguments to make, whether or not you ultimately agree with him. To spend a semester in his class and at least give him the benefit of the doubt to listen through the end is a valuable experience for any student.
