Professor Azua was very passionate about her field! The lectures were quite engaging, notes could be helpful I suppose but I don't think most of the class took any. I certainly didn't and ended with an A-. There aren't any quizzes or exams just a midterm project that was quite free range on what you could research and a final paper. Also, each student has to present a summary of a reading (you can choose). Overall, Prof. Azua was engaging! make sure to participate because she does ask questions to the class. There are readings every class, and she dives deeper through her lectures so it's good to read them! Especially because you don't want to leave her hanging when she asks a question to the class, or maybe even calls on you.
